AI Studio

From fixed triggers to context-aware reasoning.

Unlike traditional automations, such as Asana Rules, AI Studio lets you create workflows where agents assess context within parameters defined in the builder: they receive requests, extract information, route work to the right owner, update the project and notify the right people, with human review at defined checkpoints.

1. IntakeReceives and validates requests.
2. ClassifyInterprets the context of the work.
3. RouteRoutes work to the right owner.
4. ReviewEscalates to a person when needed.

How the two work together

AI Studio

Builds the workflow: its logic, decision points and review checkpoints.

AI Teammates

Work within the workflow, handling initial triage, drafts for review or status summaries.

AI Teammates

Agents that work as project members.

AI Teammates can be assigned tasks, mentioned in comments and made responsible for specific deliverables. They bring AI-assisted collaboration into Asana, complementing the workflow-building capabilities of AI Studio.

Enterprise governance

AI with governance and clear boundaries.

AI workflows in production require governance: who can create agents, which data they can access and how to audit their actions. TaskWork configures permissions, defines human review layers and documents every deployed workflow so IT, security and legal teams have visibility and control.

Access controls and governance practices are aligned with the client’s data policies, subject to validation by the company’s legal, privacy and security teams.

MCP & AI Connectors

Connect Asana to your AI ecosystem.

Asana supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing compatible AI tools to access and interact with Asana data and actions in a structured way.

For enterprise teams, this enables connections between Asana and internal assistants, data pipelines and other tools. Additional integrations may be needed depending on the system, permissions and use case.
