Your ecosystem.
Connected to work.
Bring AI closer to Asana’s context. Connections designed with purpose, permissions and governance.
More clarity across
AI, data and action.
MCP allows compatible AI clients to access Asana through a structured interface. TaskWork helps define where this connection makes sense and how to prepare it.
Three decisions before connecting
Clearly defined query, action and expected outcome.
Permissions and boundaries aligned with the organization.
Owner, review and exception handling.
Connections with
a clear objective.
Select a scenario to explore the architecture.
Work context for useful answers.
Connect compatible AI tools to the Asana data and actions defined in the use case. Architecture starts with what the team needs to query and execute.
- Relevant work information
- Actions bounded by objectives
- Access defined by owner
Information connected to execution.
Design information exchange between Asana and other systems, choosing MCP, APIs or connectors according to the need.
- Mapped data and sources
- Clear update rules
- Exception-handling criteria
Each connection with a clear role.
Structure cross-tool workflows with defined responsibilities and boundaries. Validate behavior before expanding usage.
- Documented events and actions
- Permissions proportional to scope
- Validation with process owners

Does MCP replace all integrations?
MCP, APIs and connectors can meet different needs. The choice depends on the tools, actions and workflows the organization needs to enable.
How is access authorized?
Asana’s MCP server uses OAuth. Architecture must consider permissions, owners and boundaries applicable to the use case.
Is Asana’s script editor required?
MCP connects compatible clients to the MCP server. The automation script editor is a separate feature; whether it is needed depends on the solution designed.
Where does TaskWork start?
By mapping the required tools, data and actions. Then we define preparation and governance criteria for the connection.
